We are equipped and trained to drill boreholes, install monitoring wells, and sample groundwater. We are experienced in the decontamination of our equipment, sampling for contamination, including asbestos, metals, hydrocarbons, and PFAS. We can work with your scientist in the field, or under instruction on our own.

GBI keeps stock of typically 50mm slotted and solid PVC standpipes. We can install simple PVC standpipes or more complex standpipes with bentonite seals, concrete finishings, and either flush-mounted covers or lockable monument covers.
Wells are either installed using solid auger drilling machines or diamond core drilling machines. Other pipe sizes or installation methods are available on request.
GBI can assist in regular groundwater monitoring. We can sample groundwater from almost any well/standpipe using a small, lightweight 12v water pump. We can sample in remote areas, and we are trained to decontaminate all equipment and store samples appropriately. At request, we can also send samples for selected testing.
We are experienced in sampling material for laboratory testing. Frequently requested sampling includes: metals, hydrocarbons, PFAS, and asbestos. We are trained to collect samples in appropriate containers, ensure cold chain management, and to decontaminate equipment prior to sampling, and to ensure we limit cross-contamination.
